Education Runway

The reason that you are visiting this website is probably because you are interested in education projects in developing countries. Stichting Education Runway, a private initiative established in 2011, has as its primary goal the improvement of educational opportunities. Stichting Education Runway financially supports people in developing countries by giving those people just that little extra tailwind at the start of the runway. You can find information about our motives in our Mission, Vision and Core Values. Initially Education Runway offered financial support to small general educational projects in close cooperation with local communities but as of 2014 Education Runway exclusively supports those students wanting to become a teacher. Since her foundation in 2011 Education Runway paid the entire study of some 100 people in 4 countries: Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Het doel van Stichting Education Runway is om gezamenlijk een 'startbaan van onderwijs' te creëren voor jonge mensen in arme gebieden in Afrika, zodat zij 'rugwind' krijgen voor een betere toekomst. Onderwijs bevordert de zelfredzaamheid van het individu en daarmee van de gemeenschap . Deze doelstelling sluit aan bij "Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education". In de beginperiode bood Education Runway voornamelijk financiële ondersteuning aan organisaties die zich inzetten voor kleinschalige algemene onderwijsprojecten in samenwerking met de lokale bevolking maar vanaf 2014 financiert Education Runway alleen nog de opleiding van studenten die in het onderwijs aan de slag gaan. Sinds haar oprichting in 2011 heeft Education Runway ca. 100 mensen opgeleid in Ghana, Malawi, Kenia en Ethiopië.
